We are deeply saddened to announce that our founder and Managing Director Peter Lepper has passed away at the age of 77.

Peter Lepper founded his first company, TPS-Technitube Pipe & Steel GmbH, over 48 years ago and expanded it into a group of 19 companies, which he bundled into Techniropa Holding GmbH in 2008. Today, these companies employ 1,350 people worldwide.

45 years later, on 13 November 2020, Peter Lepper, as the sole shareholder of Techniropa Holding GmbH, transferred 100% of his holding company shares to the LEPPER Foundation set up by his wife, Doris G. Lepper, by way of a donation. He remained active as Managing Director of Techniropa Holding GmbH with sole power of representation and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the LEPPER Foundation. With his endowment, he ensured the future of the group of companies and the well-being of its employees early on.

His entrepreneurial activities included the founding and successful expansion of the companies TPS-TechniTube Röhrenwerke GmbH (1975), TechniSat Digital GmbH (1987), TechniSat Elektronik Thüringen GmbH (1990), TechniSat Digital Dresden GmbH (1990), TechniSat Vogtland GmbH (1992), TechniSat Teledigital GmbH (1998), TechniSat Digital Sp. z o.o., Poland (2005), TechniSat Digital Kft, Hungary (2007), TaiShangDa Electronics (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd, China (2008), TaiShangDa Electronics Co. Ltd, Hong Kong, China (2008) and TechniBike GmbH (2016).

In 2003, Peter Lepper was honoured with the Order of Merit of the Free State of Thuringia. In 2007, he was also honoured with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon. Peter Lepper became an honorary citizen of the town of Daun in 2018.

As an entrepreneurial pioneer, Peter Lepper managed his group of companies with great dedication, tireless creativity and strategic vision. His passion, creativity and ambition were not only reflected in the development of new business areas, but also in his commitment to social projects.
